Grüne Technologien für nachhaltige Energieerzeugung
The unit for charging the EV, can be placed directly on the owner’s garage floor, but also in the open. As soon as the EV is parked – with the assistance of a special positioning system – activation occurs. The robot connects to the car automatically. The driver does not need to get out of the car and connect a cable, nor does he need to ensure that he parks exactly over the charging unit. The robot corrects by up to 30 centimeters.
Everyday usability that saves on resources
A further user advantage of this robot technology is the easy, convenient placement or installation, even in tight garages. Ultra-broadband radio technology is used to connect the base plate to the EV. This saves a great deal of energy when “filling up” and is, therefore, more sustainable.
From private households to all over the world
Initially, the robot charger is aimed at use in private garages. Charging occurs via 22 kW AC. In a second stage, a quick charging solution is planned, which can be inset into the ground and will offer upwards of 50 kW DC charging. This could be installed in multi-storey car parks, at filling stations or on company premises. The first pilot series production AC system, which will meet all the certification criteria for the automotive industry, should be ready by mid-2022. Full series production is then planned for 2024.
