The current landscape “Green Tech Startups Austria 2025” counts 215 young tech companies in the field of environmental and climate protection. This is an increase of around ten percent compared to the previous year, with the university cities of Vienna and Graz dominating overall. The most important factors for the startups are Cooperation with industry and access to financing. The landscape was surveyed by Green Tech Valley in cooperation with nine partners.
Nine strong partners for 215 innovative solutions
Coordinated by Green Tech Valley as the network of “green” startups, the AplusB Centers, Austrian Startups, aws, Climate Lab & Impact Hub Vienna, ECN and the Climate and Energy Fund, as well as invest. austria and EY once again brought the red-white-red “Green Tech Startups” to the fore: 215 innovative, young tech companies with a focus on sustainability were identified, which is an increase of around 10 percent compared to the previous year’s survey (2024: 193 startups), thus bundling synergies throughout Austria in order to provide the best possible support for young, green, innovative companies in the country across all development phases.ative solutions
