Scheduled for the 5th and 6th of June 2024 in Graz and online, this conference promises to be a cornerstone event for professionals and enthusiasts alike who are committed to shaping a sustainable future. There are no conference fees.

Event Details

  • Dates: 5 – 6 June 2024
  • Venue: FH JOANNEUM Graz & AIOLA im Schloss. Parts of the conference will be streamed, making online participation possible as well.
  • Target Group: VET professionals (secondary & tertiary), industry representatives, governmental organizations at all levels, and NGOs involved in skills development and the green transition.

Attendance at the conference is free of charge.

Join Us in Shaping a Green Future

This conference is part of the GREENOVET project, an international project in the frame of ERASMUS+ KA3 with 18 project partners from 4 European countries that supports the development of Vocational Education and Training (VET) excellence in the field of green innovation across Europe. The overall objective is to connect actors at regional, national as well as transnational level with each other and with key stakeholders of local innovation and skills ecosystems. This is achieved through the establishment of 4 “Centres of Professional Excellence” (CoVEs), in Austria Finland, North Macedonia, and Portugal.

Exhibition

There are 2 exhibitions as part of the conference:

  1. Good practices in vocational excellence (Date: June 5, 2024): This exhibition aims to present concepts, tools, methods, collaboration practices in: Vocational excellence (collaborations in the skills ecosystems), VET (learning and teaching methods, tools, curricula, inclusion of stakeholders, etc.), Other innovative relevant experiences.
  2. Teaching initiatives for Green Skills development (Date: June 6, 2024): This exhibition aims to present concepts, tools, methods, learning and teaching practices regarding green skills development (both technical and generic) in formal, non-formal, and informal education.

Green Meeting

As the host of the GREENOVET final conference, FH JOANNEUM is committed to climate protection and sustainability. That’s why we chose to get certified by the Austrian Ecolabel for “Green Meetings and Green Events”. The Green Meeting certification process helps to identify areas where sustainability can be improved.

Our goal is to make the GREENOVET final conference as eco-friendly as possible. All the food and drinks provided during the conference for refreshment will be particularly scrutinized by us in terms of origin and quality. We consciously refrain from single-use beverage as well as unnecessary printed materials or environmentally harmful giveaways. For the name badges, we deliberately avoid plastic covers. Waste will carefully separate from each other.

As a Green Event organizer, we make every effort to make your journey to Graz as easy as possible. Therefore, we encourage all participants to travel to the FH JOANNEUM as environmentally & climate friendly as possible. Tips for your travel can be found at www.oebb.at.

The venue (Eggenberger Allee 11) is easily accessible by public transportation (tram line). Additionally, there are plenty of bicycle parking spaces available in front of the building. Barrier-free access is provided.

Participants with disabilities will be supported by our team according to their specific needs. 

The aim is to organize the event in accordance with the criteria of the Austrian Ecolabel for Green Meetings.

Arrival at the Airport of Vienna
Please find below options on how to get from Vienna to Graz.

  • with the bus directly from the airport to Graz,
  • with the train directly from Vienna airport.

You can book all your tickets through internet:

– train (fahrplan.oebb.at)
– NEW_ ÖBB app on your travels

You can quickly and easily get your ÖBB and/or transport association tickets at the ÖBB Ticketshop and through the ÖBB App: No matter whether you book online or using your mobile phone, purchasing tickets always works the same way thanks to the uniform interface and is done in just a few clicks. The app also acts as a guide for your journey and provides you with up-to-date and relevant information (e.g. real-time timetable information, the platform from which my train will leave, where I have to change trains etc.).

Travelling in Graz – Public Transport
The venue is easily accessible by public transportation, you can buy tickets in the central railway train station (Hauptbahnhof) and in the trams itself.

Take a tram (line no. 7) in direction of “Wetzelsdorf”. Get out at the stop called “FH Joanneum/Eggenberger Allee”. Tram line 7 stops directly in front of FH JOANNEUM at Eggenberger Allee 11.
